  • How to Join: The most important step you can take as a preservationist is to become informed about local history. By becoming a member of the Hampton Bays Historical & Preservation Society, you also support current and future restoration efforts. Please join us in appreciation and respect of this area for its rich history and great natural beauty. Become a member: Join today and receive great membership benefits, invitations to all of our monthly meetings, special events and exhibition openings. You can print out our membership application form and mail it with your check or money order. You can also use our feedback form.

  • Visit Us: We have a lot of information you can read about and you can meet our staff and find out how you can help foster our mission. Click here for our office location, hours of operation and map directions. (Please call ahead if you plan to visit.)

  • Learn About Our Latest Projects: We have several stewardship projects to restore historic buildings in town. Take a few moments to explore them.

  • Become a Volunteer: Do you have skills that you would like to use in new ways? Would you like to learn new skills and meet new people? Or would you like to build on an interest you haven’t yet had the chance to fully explore? There are so many choices when you become a volunteer! Contact us at (631) 728‑0887.

  • Donate Your Items: The Historical Society is always interested in adding more to our collections relating to local history to its collections. Don’t wait until it’s too late and some uninterested party is carting your treasures to the dump! Hampton Bays has lost a lot of its history in this way. Act now! Contact us at (631) 728‑0887.

  • For Teachers: Click here to view our educational resources.

  • For the General Public: From April through October every year, we hold a general public meeting in which guest lecturers provide lively discourse on topics of historic interest to the community. These meetings normally are scheduled on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in the Hampton Bays Public Library, Ponquogue Avenue, Hampton Bays, NY. For the latest year-round events, check our events/calendar page.
