ABOUT US

The Hampton Bays Historical & Preservation Society was founded in 1994 (25 years ago!) to preserve, document, and educate the local community on local history. The Society maintains a collection of family records, genealogies, oral histories and many interesting artifacts that have been preserved for historians and future generations. It is also steward of several restored historic properties: the Prosper King House, the Lyzon Hat Museum, the Canoe Place Chapel and three Southampton Town-owned cemeteries.

This summer, we will celebrate the Grand Opening of the Canoe Place Chapel as we celebrate its 200th Birthday!
